Last month I introduced my favourite neuroscientist, Andrew Huberman, and today it will be Simon Sinek, an inspirational speaker whose fan I've been for almost a decade.
Simon is known for writing books about leadership and helping to inspire people (not only) in companies and organizations. However, the content of the many talks and interviews he's given is relevant - I dare to say - to most people's lives. To me, he is highly articulate and insightful, his examples tangible and metaphors simple enough to grasp.
Simon is one of the few people I can listen to repeatedly and always find there something useful and relevant. His warmth of heart, openness and integrity is what makes him a bit rare in the world of business and celebrities.
Today I will share with you quite a few short videos (some of them go with subtitles) and two full-length podcast interviews, in case you appreciate his messages and want to get more of him.
For instance, the one on having effective confrontations can be used with anybody, also with children. Highly recommended to watch and test out when needed. ☺
Shorts on YouTube
An excerpt on sticking to the process and letting go of the expectations about the timing (i.e. when we will achieve the goal).
Short Facebook videos/reels (I think they could work even without an account)
Shall we be always honest when giving feedback? Yes, but.... ► listen
How to solve our problems? And some thoughts on honour and dishonour.
Full-length interviews
Interview with Steven Bartlett, this time about Steven's success - more interesting from 1:01:00
And if you got till the end of the post (thank you!), I add two quotes to contemplate:
"There is an entire section in the bookshop called self-help,but what we really need is a section called Help Others."
One of Simon’s favorite quotes is by American businessman Herb Kelleher:
"You don’t hire for skills, you hire for attitude. You can always teach skills.”
